Sotheby’s to Offer several Master Works

At Sotheby’s London Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale, iconic masterpieces from Pablo Picasso, Claude Monet and Piet Mondrian will go  under the hammer. Amongst other notable artworks,  three highly sought after paintings will be auctioned off on June 19 at Sotheby’s London.

 

Piet Mondrain’s Composition With Red, Yellow And Blue is estimated at between £4.5 million to £6.5 million. The painting from 1927, embodies the period of Mondrain’s career when he produced his purest and most balanced works.

 

Full of the artist’s characteristic energy, vitality and inventiveness, Pablo Picasso’s Le Peintre, 1967, is estimated to fetch between £5 million to £7 million. Placed in front of an easel, the figure in the painting can be seen as a disguised portrait of Picasso himself.

 

Possibly the most anticipated piece at the auction, is Claude Monet’s Le Palais Contarini. Painted my Monet during a three-month trip to Venice in 1908, the painting dates from the peak of Monet’s career. It is valued at between £15 million to £20 million. There will be plenty of interest on this night when some these master works are highlighted.
